I first saw Kimi when I advertised on Craigslist Colorado Spring that I wanted a german shepard puppy around 8 weeks old. The owners sent me a picture of this adorable puppy. I made arrangements to go see her right after I saw a litter of black german shepard puppies. The litter was only 2 weeks old and I wasn't looking for an all black puppy. So off I went to see this other puppy.
When my husband and I went to the owner's house, they were on their way back from the dog park. They had taken their black male german shepard and the puppy. They told me on the phone that the puppy was having a good time. When we took her to the dog park, it was not quite that way, but more on that later. We waited about 20 minutes for them to show up.
So when they got home, we were their to see the puppy as she got out of the car. They had started to call her Samantha because another lady had wanted her but backed out of the sale. Now we know why but more about that later.
Samantha was playing with us and seemed in good mood, just a little mouthy. She was a pretty golden color, like dark brownish yellow. She had a black muzzle that went up to her eyes and very big paws. I took the big paws as a good sign she would be a big middle sized dog. She had spirit and I liked her from the start. I told the owners that I wanted to think about it and while I was talking to them, Samantha came and layed on my feet. I was hooked but I wanted to think about it. The owners showed me paperwork from a local vet that had info on it that she had her first shots the previous week. They told me she had been shecked and was healthy.
Eric and I got 6 minutes away and had been talking about her and he asked me "Should I turn the car around?". Of course I said yes! And we went back to buy this adorable puppy that I had fallen in love with.
This is how Samantha came to live with us. It took me a couple of days but I decided to change her name to Kimi, after the german shepard I had when I was 3 years old. Kimi was home!
